Our History

The history of Flamant dates back more than 35 years, to when Alex Flamant worked in his father’s antique shop in Geraardsbergen, Belgium. Upon being approached by several customers seeking multiples of a hard-to-find chair, Alex decided to find a way to source and reproduce the chair himself. The end result was a quality reproduction that emulated the artisan techniques and premium materials of the original.

That first design project spurred the original idea behind the Flamant brand: the reinterpretation of antique furniture and decorative objects, with care for master craftsmanship, beautiful materials and enduring quality. This concept constitutes the leitmotif in all Flamant collections, and serves as the framework for the brand’s international development.

Flamant today is a luxury lifestyle brand, curating fine products and designs in the home furnishing marketplace. The collection features updated classics and antique reproductions with an authentic point of view. Evoking a feeling of familiarity, genuineness and purity, each piece is created with respect for artisanship, using natural quality materials sourced from small workshops all over the world.
